Amy Sukol Named 2022 DMFA Marketer of the Year!
December 08, 2022 - by Lautman Maska Neill & Company
Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association names Amy Sukol the Member with the Greatest Marketing Achievement This Year!
All of us at Lautman are thrilled, but not surprised! Why? So many reasons…
In our wonderful industry full of amazing professionals, Amy stands out for her deep knowledge and expertise gained over decades of experience exceeding her nonprofit clients’ goals. Her current clients include Reading is Fundamental (RIF) – whose acquisition campaign recently won the DMFA’s Package of the Year award, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Visiting Nurse Service of New York and many others … and she has also raised vital funds in the past for the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, National Museum of Women in the Arts and the ASPCA among others.
She’s a tireless volunteer. Do you need help with something? Ask Amy and she will say YES. She is firmly committed to giving back in the industry. She has served on the DMFA board … she Co-Chaired the Bridge Conference in 2020 … she is currently Co-Chairing the Education Committee for the 2023 Bridge Conference … and she has served on the DMAW’s Maxi Committee for many years. And she also served on the boards of local organizations in her community.
Amy is a vital part of our success at Lautman Maska Neill & Company. In her 30 years with the firm, she has contributed to our growth and mentored so many of our staff. As Principal, she helped launch our DEI work several years ago, and heads up our Staff Training and Development efforts. All in addition to leading her client accounts!
Speaking of clients — her clients adore her. They view her as a trusted partner — helping them solve problems and dream up new strategies and innovative campaigns to meet and exceed their goals.
In the words of Gaby Greenwald, previously of Northern Westchester Hospital Foundation:
“Amy has taken Northern Westchester Hospital's direct mail program from small with no metrics/benchmarks to an extremely high performing, multi-channel robust program that outperforms budgeted goals year-over-year. She is not just a consultant. She is a valued and highly respected member of my team. Amy continues to push us to even higher heights with integrity, honesty, humor, and friendship. No one else is more deserving than Amy.”
Another client, Laura Whitlock of the Denver-based Pioneers, had this to say:
“Amy has a passion for fund-raising and for her clients that is unmatched in this industry. She took our program, that was dying a slow death, and breathed life back into it. She is a brilliant strategist … I’ve worked with many vendors and agencies in my career, and Lautman Maska Neill & Company outshines them all. The amazing team that serves under Amy’s exceptional leadership and inspiration is the best in the nation.”
And Doctors Without Borders’ Director of Mid-level Giving had this high praise for Amy:
“Meeting Amy was kismet. She is one of the greatest champions of our work, but more importantly an expert advisor with a gift in critical thinking… her knowledge and instincts on giving for higher value cohorts shined straight through… Amy’s openness makes her an excellent partner to turn to for hard conversations — I’m thrilled to have her in my rolodex under strategic input.”
Amy has it all. She is super-smart, hard-working, reliable, cause-oriented and collaborative … truly embodying the qualities of the DMFA Marketer of the Year. And she is such a pleasure to work with — beloved by Lautman staff, our clients and her many industry colleagues.
Amy received her award “virtually” at the DMFA Year End Luncheon on December 7 (she was unable to attend as it conflicted with a previously schedule company-wide meeting). She accepted by video thanking the more than 150 industry colleagues who gathered to honor her. In her introduction, Lisa Maska, owner/partner of Lautman Maska Neill & Company, cited the myriad reasons Amy deserved this recognition.
Please join us in congratulating Amy for this honor!
